[Conference/Seminar Report] Announcement at the 68th American College of Sports Medicine that "6 Amino Acid Mix" improves Achilles tendon condition
Professor Yasuo Kawakami of the Graduate School of Sport Sciences at Waseda University presented a presentation at the 68th American College of Sports Medicine (June 2021-6, 1) on the efficacy of Ajinomoto Co.'s proprietary 5 Amino Acid Mix for Joint and Tendon Conditioning in improving the uniformity and stiffness of the Achilles tendon structure...

How tendons work | Their relationship with muscles and joints and the importance of injury prevention
This book explains the roles played by "tendons" that connect muscles to bones and "joints" that connect bones to bones, as well as the stresses placed on them during exercise. It also introduces key care tips for protecting tendons and joints and maintaining optimal movement.

"6 Amino Acid Mix for Joint and Tendon Conditioning" supports nutritional support for joints and tendons
This book explains the structure and function of joints and tendons, explains why nutrients are difficult to deliver, and explains the importance of maintaining their condition. It also explains how a mix of six amino acids supports the recovery and flexibility of joints and tendons, helping to support optimal movement.
[Academic conference/seminar report] Part of the mechanism by which a "6-amino acid mix" improves the condition of joints and tendons has been elucidated (76th Japanese Society of Nutrition and Food Science)
Joints and tendons are important organs that support bodily movement, and it is known that when these functions decline, people are unable to move as they wish and pain occurs. In previous human studies, we have reported that the "6 Amino Acid Mix" relieves discomfort and pain in joints and improves the condition of tendons. Cartilage cells are involved in the condition of joints and tendons, respectively. Therefore, we evaluated the effects of the "6 Amino Acid Mix" on cartilage cells and tendon cells to investigate the mechanism by which it improves the condition of joints and tendons.
It is known that inflammation is one of the causes of functional decline in joints and tendons. Therefore, we evaluated the effect of the "6-amino acid mix" on chondrocytes and tendon cells that had been stimulated with inflammation. As evaluation indicators, we evaluated inflammation markers in the cells, the amount of collagen, which is a major component of joints and tendons, and the gene expression level of enzymes involved in collagen degradation.
As a result, in cartilage cells, the "6 Amino Acid Mix" significantly suppressed the increase in inflammatory markers. It also significantly suppressed the decrease in collagen volume caused by inflammation and the increased gene expression of enzymes involved in collagen degradation caused by inflammation. Furthermore, in tendon cells, the "6 Amino Acid Mix" significantly improved collagen metabolism.

These findings suggest that the "6 Amino Acid Mix" may improve the condition of joints and tendons by acting directly on cartilage cells and tendon cells, suppressing inflammation and normalizing collagen metabolism caused by inflammation.
