In ball sports such as basketball, soccer, and rugby, physical conditioning is an essential element. However, many athletes struggle to build their physique because intense training and subsequent protein intake prevent them from getting enough nutrients from their regular meals.

This time, we interviewed Professor Jun Yasuda, a lecturer in the Department of Health Management, Faculty of Health Sciences, Tokai University, who also provides nutritional guidance to members of the university's athletic clubs. We asked him about the causes of decreased appetite after exercise and how amino acids can be used to improve these problems.

After completing her doctoral studies at the Graduate School of Sport and Health Science, Ritsumeikan University, she worked as a researcher at the National Institute of Sports Science, among other positions, before assuming her current position in 2023. Her research focuses on maintaining and increasing muscle mass, encompassing exercise and nutritional strategies, and she implements evidence-based findings into nutritional support in competitive sports settings.
